grblHAL Alarm 5
grblHALAlarmPosition is kept
The probe moved its full distance and never touched the plate.
Position is kept. The probe move ended normally; it just didn't find contact. (Hamrun's reading)
What to do
- Check the plate is under the bit and the clip is on the bit (or the collet).
- Start the probe closer to the plate, or give it a longer probing distance.
- Touch the clip to the plate by hand and see whether the probe light changes. If it doesn't, check the probe wiring.
Official grblHAL message: “Probe fail. Probe did not contact the workpiece within the programmed travel for G38.2 and G38.4.” source
Got a different message?
Paste it into the decoder. Hamrun's editor checks your G-code before you run it, so a toolpath that leaves the machine's travel or a missing feed rate is caught before the machine stops.
