Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Hamrun is run by Charles Briand in Nova Scotia, Canada ("we"). This page explains what personal information we handle, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Buying a license

Hamrun Maker licenses are sold through Payhip, which runs the checkout, takes payment through its payment providers and handles sales tax and VAT. Payhip collects your name, email, billing country and payment details. We receive your name, email and order details. We never see your full card number. Older orders may have gone through Lemon Squeezy, which works the same way. Tips through Ko-fi are handled by Ko-fi.

Activating your license

When you paste your license key, our server checks it with the store that sold it. The store returns the email on the order. We turn that email into a short one-way code inside your license and show you a masked version (like j…@example.com). We don't save your email on our servers. Your license is stored in your own browser.

Using the tools

No account is needed. The text, settings, shapes and logos in your design are sent to our design engine to build your preview or file, then discarded. They aren't stored, sold or used to train anything. Photos you load into Relief are turned into a depth map in your browser; only that depth map is sent to the engine, not the photo itself.

Stored on your device

Your browser keeps your license key, your autosaved build and a few display settings so they're there next time. This stays on your device; we can't see it. To remove it, clear this site's data in your browser.

Visits and technical logs

Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard request details, such as your IP address and the page requested, to keep the service running and secure. Our own logs record which tool was used and how long it took, never the content of your design. To stop abuse, our server counts requests per IP address for about one minute and doesn't save them.

Some pages use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or identify you; it records things like the page, the site that sent you, and your rough location and device type.

Fonts are served from our own site. The editor loads some code libraries from the jsDelivr network, which receives your IP address when your browser fetches them, like any website.

Email

If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as we need it to help you.

Suggestions

If you send a suggestion, we receive what you wrote, the page you sent it from, and your email if you chose to give one. It's saved as a private note on GitHub, which only we can see, and is used to plan updates and, if you gave an email, to reply. Your IP address is counted for about one minute to stop spam and isn't saved with it. To have a suggestion deleted, email us.

What we don't do

We don't sell personal information, run advertising trackers, or share your information except with the services named above that run the store and the site, or where the law requires it.

Where your information is processed

The services above may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, under the laws of those countries.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as tax law requires (in Canada, generally six years). Everything else is kept only as long as it's needed for the purpose above.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email chuckb80+shop@gmail.com, ideally from the address you bought with, so we can confirm it's you. We'll reply within 30 days.

Some things we can't delete: order records the law requires us to keep, and records held by Payhip, Lemon Squeezy or Ko-fi under their own policies (we'll point you to them). If deleting your information would also cancel your license, we'll tell you before doing it.

If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Any new feature that sends your information to another service, such as an AI design feature, will be added here before it goes live.
